What it does

FXP MTF Trend Dashboard puts a compact table in the top-left corner of the chart that shows, for five timeframes of the current symbol, the EMA trend state and the RSI value. A summary line counts how many timeframes are bullish and bearish, so you can see at a glance whether the timeframes agree.

The panel refreshes every two seconds on a timer, so it stays current even when the chart symbol is not ticking.

How it works

For each timeframe the indicator reads three standard indicators through MetaTrader handles: a fast EMA (20), a slow EMA (50) and RSI (14), all on closing prices. By default it uses the last closed bar of each timeframe, so values do not flicker with the live candle.

  • Strong up: fast EMA above slow EMA and close above the fast EMA.
  • Up: fast EMA above slow EMA, close at or below the fast EMA (a pullback).
  • Strong down and Down: the mirror conditions.
  • Flat: both EMAs equal.

RSI is shown with one decimal. Values at or above the overbought level (70) are colored with the bearish color, values at or below the oversold level (30) with the bullish color, as a reminder of stretched conditions. When a timeframe's data is still loading, the row shows "loading..." until history is available. All indicator handles are released when the dashboard is removed.

How to use it

Copy the .ex5 file into MQL5/Indicators and attach it to any chart.

A common way to use a multi-timeframe view is top-down: take direction from the higher timeframes and look for entries on the lower ones only in that direction. When all five rows agree the trend is broad; mixed rows often mean a range or a transition. Read the lessons on moving averages and the RSI indicator for the background on both tools.

Choose timeframes that are spaced apart (for example M15, H1, H4, D1, W1) rather than neighbors like M1 and M2, which mostly repeat each other.

Limitations

  • EMA crossovers lag. The dashboard confirms trends after they have started and is slow to show reversals.
  • Higher-timeframe rows use the last closed bar, so a weekly row can be days behind the current price.
  • With "use last closed bar" turned off, values change with every tick.
  • Timeframe agreement is not a guarantee of continuation. Use stops and sensible position sizes. Trading involves substantial risk of loss.
